L-Band Fibre optic Links TX/RX support satellite communication, -ground stations, VSAT and cable networks

Two types of optical converters are available:

  • optical transmitter which converts from IF input to optical output at 1310nm
  • optical receiver which regenerates the optical signal back to an IF spectrum

We offer the Optical TX/RX modules for different frequency bands.

  • 950 to 2150MHz
  • 50 to 2150MHz
  • 950 to 2150MHz and 10MHz reference frequency for BUC on same fiber

The standard configuration includes redundant power supplies which can optionally be with the Hot-Swap feature

The 19” unit provides a LCD Display and a keyboard which allows the Operator to monitor & control the optical links from the front panel, while an alarm log shows the last 20 alarm messages

The system also includes an integrated web server with Ethernet interface to support both locally or remote monitoring

The configuration of the Optical RX/TX units is based on a 19” 2 RU which provides for 10 modules which can be a mix of optical receivers and transmitters.

The system can be used in Uni-directional or Bi-directional configurations

Test and control functions

TX Optical Transmitter

  • supply voltage for LNC to be connected to its L-Band input, including current monitoring and alarm local monitoring and control via the front panel
  • L-Band gain adjustment of +/-15dB in 1dB steps
  • L-Band SMA test output to measure L-band signals or connect a beacon receiver
  • Monitoring of alarms and input level range via LEDs
  • Monitoring & control via Web Browser interface, SNMP, TCP/IP and RS232
  •  Measurement points at the front panel to measure:
    • L-Band input power
    • Laser diode optical output power
    • Laser diode current
  • Monitoring of alarms and input level range

RX Optical Receiver

  • local monitoring and control via the front panel
  • gain adjustment of 30dB in 1dB steps
  • L-Band SMA test output to measure L-band signals
  • Monitoring of alarms and output level range via LEDs
  • Monitoring & control via Web Browser interface, SNMP, TCP/IP and RS232
  • Measurement points at the front panel for:
    • L-Band output power
    • Optical input power
  • Monitoring of alarms and output level range
